I had the chance to team up with the Cypress College Veterans Organization (CCVO) and photograph some of the strongest women in the world.

For one morning, we pampered these ladies. Provided them breakfast, brought in professionals for back rubs, and a make over.

I donated my services to CCVO so that the female Vets can have a portrait of themselves after their makeover.

Don’t let the term “female Veterans,” fool you. While some are finished with their service, some of the ladies are either in the inactive phase of their contract or still play an active part in protecting our freedom.

For all the sacrifices these ladies gave, one morning is nothing compared to the countless days they put on the line for our freedom.

The CCVO plays a very active role in supporting various veterans get the education and support that they deserve. On weekends you may find the members of the CCVO giving back through various acts of community service, taking part in charity events and finding any way to help those around them.

Uncorked! Laguna Beach Fiat 500e Release Party

February 13th, 2013

I was contacted by the marketing department over a FIAT to take some photos of their first public release of their new fully electric model. Along with a few local businesses, FIAT sponsored Uncorked! in Laguna Beach. Originally a wine tasting event, the 500e received a warm welcome from the crowd.

Check it out. My year. In Photos.

December 31st, 2011

A couple weeks ago, I was on the iPad2 on some Reader App looking through Time Magazine, LIFE Magazine and some other publication’s”Year in Photos”. And it gave me an idea, I’ve had a long year, and it’s really been crazy. I haven’t had two projects that were the same, it’s all be such a great and wonderful experience. If we didn’t have calendars, I wouldn’t know where to start.

If we didn’t have calendars, I wouldn’t know where to start.

Under each photo there’ll be a short story about why I picked it as my favorite photo.

The Last Dance, from Alex and Espy’s Wedding. I noticed this gentleman pushing his wife into the wedding venue earlier that day. She spent most of the day in her wheelchair, but when they played the last song, she whispered something to her husband and he helped her up. Alex and Espy told me that she had been battling cancer for quite some time and that their wedding was the first time she got out in a very long time.

Sheree. Me and her go back all the way through high school. After I switched in during the middle of my Junior year, I didn’t know a soul. Sheree was quick to make friends with me and keep me company.

july

military family photographerPinky+Stinky 365. Communication.  A memory straight from my head. After a long day of training we were sometimes rewarded with the opportunity to write back to our loved ones. Most of the writing that occured during lights out took place under a red light to prevent others from waking up. This photo involved zero photoshop work, it was shot in a single frame.

august

apple valley weddingsMTV from Josh and Theresa’s wedding. MTV gave me a call asking if I had any younger clients who were interested in having their wedding day. I had never worked with such a large entity during a wedding with over 6 videographers and a crane operator, and it was definitely experience. This gentleman is a sound technician partaking in some red velvet cake, note the cheeky wedding attire.

september

rifle photosBOOM! The guys at Ares Armor brought me out to a private range in Southern California. I was there to take some video footage of the group for an instructional video for their sling. I’ve been around guns before, but never as a photographer, standing next to what people are shooting at.(No photographers were harmed during that day.)

october

los angeles car photographer4 car pile up. We had just gotten on the freeway, then traffic abruptly stopped. I was able to stop within inches of hitting the car in front of me, but the driver four cars behind me had no such luck. He ended up causing a chain reaction that would delay our photo session for that night.

los angeles wedding photosthe boot. I didn’t think it was possible, but this image marked my first year focusing on weddings primarily. I still photograph other things, but 80% of my work is wedding related.

Thanks for stopping by!

The Dumangas Association | Knott’s Berry Farm Hotel

September 10th, 2011

I had the pleasure of photographing the Dumangas Association’s 2011 gathering at the Knott’s Berry Farm Hotel in Buena Park a few weeks back.
I had a lot of fun watching them perform traditional Filipino dances and performances, seeing the kids in their cute little outfits brought me back to my childhood in the Philippines.

The Spirit of Dance- Presented by Te Varua Ori

August 11th, 2011

A beautiful show presented by the Talented Young Tahitian Dance Group, Te Varua Ori. This event took place at the Grove in the city of Anaheim. Congratulations TVO!!!

The large auditorium filled with mist. The lights dimmed low. Loud drum beats filled the room. Loud Shrill war cries from the croud reverberate through the darkness. The Show’s begun.

A grand entrance, as always from Te Varua Ori.

The story of tonight’s show was about a young couple, who meet at an early, is torn apart by war. A tale of romance and action is sure to capture any heart from any age.

Dressed in traditional Tahitian garb, this group of fit young dancers know how to put on a show. Equipped with lively dance moves and ear catching drum beats. This orange county based Tahitian dance team knows how to put on a good show.

Congratulations to Te Varua Ori for another beautiful, heart moving display of skill, talent, and ingenuity.

If you haven’t seen a show from Te Varua Ori, I recommend catching one- it’s sure to rock your world.

I attended my first parade this year. It was the Golden Dragon Parade on Broadway for the the Chinese New Year.

I was invited by Garrick of “They Shoot Film” an art collective spanning across the country.

We started the morning off at the Golden Dragon Restaurant for some dim-sum.

After our delicious lunch, we hit the streets for some good ol’ fashion, people watching.

Red was the theme of the day, however that doesn’t mean it lacked colors.  The people of Los Angeles brought their own eclectic twist on the Festival.

Everyone and their mother was there! Street Vendors, photographers, families, high school bands, people who brought Japanese umbrellas, the mayor, and kung fu fighting kids!

We were invited to attend Te Varua Ori’s Annual Showcase at Servite High School.

From the first performance of the night, the group put together a beautiful performance.

The night started with a dancer blowing into a conch and ended with the dancers picking audience members to dance with on stage.

But it’s not all waist shaking, war cry screaming, and foot stomping for TVO (pronounced TeeVo). For the past 5 years they’ve participated in the various Charitable Activities such as Lupus International’s Race for Life and have provided enterntainment for those who run in the 24 hour long Relay for Life in Long beach.

Congratulations to Te Varua Ori for a smashing performance!

I attended the LA art walk tonight on Spring in Downtown LA.

I had a blast walking around but one of the best stops was definitely the Blackheart event the Harlem Place Cafe.

Hidden at the end of a long dark hallway, you’ll never expect what’s around the corner in this cafe.

The moment I walked in I was surrounded by good people, great art, and beautiful music.

The event was thrown by Derekstar, a southern california art collective composed of young talented photographers, musics, painters, and every other kind of artist.
